Biography
A precocious artist, Amanda Favier played her first concerto appearance at nine years old. She is the youngest laureate ever of the International J.S. Bach Competition in Leipzig, Germany, and has since collected international prizes.
Having achieved outstanding musical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, she received her Violin First Prize in the class of Gérard Poulet, as well as her upper level diploma with notable mention. After completing an improvement course, she learned another approach with the Slav violonist Igor Ozim (Bern) and Ifrah Neaman (London).
Amanda Favier has also been awarded with the Forthuny prize of the Académie des Beaux Arts and Berthier prize of the Palmes Académiques. Several private foundations have supported her like the Fondation Banque Populaire and the Mécénat Société Générale.
Trusted by many conductors, Ms Favier has performed with many orchestras in prestigious concert halls (Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Gaveau and Cité de la Musique in Paris, Genève Victoria Hall, Kremlin State Palace, Palais des congrès de Paris, Théâtre du Châtelet... ) and collaborates with several radio and television broadcasts.
She regularly records for different labels (Lyrinx, Saphir, Ligea, Arion, NoMadMusic ...). After a first disc noticed with the pianist Cédric Tiberghien, we remember among others his version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons (Saphir) - RTL Gold Classic - Air France Selection, "Favorite" France-Music - head of the best French sales for several weeks. Her recording "Dans la malle du Poilu", published by Arion, received the label of the Mission of the Centenary of the war 14-18 and was distinguished by the newspaper "Le Monde" as one of the best records of the year 2014. As for his Beethoven album, three Beethoven sonatas published in 2016 by NoMadMusic with Célimène Daudet, he is the "Choice of France Music" and FFF of Télérama.
"Ideal partner" according to Pierre Gervasoni (Le Monde), Amanda Favier likes the repertoire of chamber music which she practices assiduously. Curious about meetings and new collaborations, she often mixes her music with poetry, literature or jazz with the complicity of contrasting personalities like Brigitte Fossey, Marie-Christine Barrault, François Castang, Jean-Marie Machado, Yaron Herman ...
We will find her on record in April 2020 for the NoMadMusic label in the concertos of Igor Stravinsky and John Corigliano "The Red Violin" with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège conducted by Adrien Perruchon.
